With it came some routine shots and a blood draw for lead testing  (a new standard) for 9-month-olds. He was strong, though. He is less baby and more big boy each day. I love spending time with him - laughing and smiling are my favorite.</p> <p>Yesterday, I realized that Abram’s feelings would eventually be hurt by another person. That thought grew into the thought of anything unfortunate, unfair or unhappy happening to him. I suddenly felt helpless as a parent and fearful of the future. I won’t be able to shelter and comfort and protect Abram in every single situation.</p> <p>But I know God loves my Abram and has his best interests in mind. He will be there when unfortunate things do happen.
